Our JOURNEY AND TEAM AT BORN TO BLOSSOM:

Welcome! I am Candace Hallak, a part of your village and a professional you can count on. I have been caring for and supporting families for years and would love to be considered to be a part of your team. As a mother of two beautiful children I am on this journey beside each and every new parent. After starting my journey at Grossmont Hospital Emergency Department, I pursued a career in nursing.  After years of working trauma, I ventured into Labor and Delivery and instantly felt inspired. Feeling complete, I moved forward into private practice supporting families in my surrounding areas with a large focus on prenatal education and postpartum support. I am a birth and postpartum doula professional who is involved in the San Diego community emotionally, physically and spiritually. A primary focus of my practice as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) is supporting families with feeding techniques and information to support your goals while you breastfeed or bottle feed. I believe in creating a village for every family using evidence based information, with the addition of supporting the families I work with for a lifetime. With my extensive experience in caring for newborns, I have been able to help families find a balance to confidently parent and enjoy the postpartum period. I also have an educational background in psychology and nutrition and strive to deliver a holistic approach to birth and postpartum through education and referrals. I proudly represent as a member of the San Diego Postpartum Health Alliance and support families through perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.

As a Board Certified Lactation Consultant I am able to support families from the first hour of life beginning to feed until the days of weaning along with everything in between. With a focus on maternal mental health I am motivated to provide the best care for patients to help each family achieve their postpartum goals.

MEET OUR TEAM:

Cheyenne Fletcher

Meet Cheyenne:  Hi, I’m Cheyenne. I take great pride in how I serve families and show up for them with compassion, presence, and deep respect throughout their birth and postpartum journeys. With over five years as a birth, bereavement, and postpartum doula, I am honored to walk alongside families as they grow, heal, and remember their power in the sacred portals of birth. Each family I serve reminds me of the strength and wisdom that already lives within them. Through the intimate and heart-wrenching loss of my daughter in the second trimester of pregnancy, I now carry a deeper understanding of birth and postpartum how it shifts shape in grief, how birth holds both beauty and ache, and how tenderness lives in all of it. This journey has softened me, awakened me, and reminded me that in even the hardest seasons, we can heal with grace, reclaim our voices, and reach out for help. As a licensed foster parent in California, rooted in San Diego County, I remain deeply committed to holding space for others, wherever they are and however they come.

Wendy Dimmock, IBCLC

Meet Wendy: Hi. My name is Wendy! I'm an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). I am  passionate about sharing my experience and education to help moms succeed at reaching their breastfeeding goals and develop healthy parent/child relationships. I am the mother of four children who are all growing up way too fast! It feels like yesterday that I was breastfeeding them and wondering if I'd ever sleep again. My youngest was born 2 months premature and  spent 3.5 weeks in the NICU. I almost gave up on breastfeeding him until an IBCLC came into our room and encouraged me to keep at it. Twenty-four hours later he breastfed for the first time and went on to nurse for 1.5 years. Now, fifteen years later, I am priveleged to be the person offering hope and support to families walking through the various challenges of feeding and raising babies. I understand that parenting is difficult for both parents (and sometimes siblings), and would be honored to come alongside your family as you navigate breast and bottle feeding challenges from infancy to weaning.

Leah Brodt

Meet Leah: Hi, I’m Leah Brodt. founder of Zen Mama — where I help families find calm amongst the chaos of birth and postpartum. I’m a birth and postpartum doula, yoga teacher, women’s strength coach, and Spinning Babies®-trained bodyworker.

My journey into this work began with the birth of my daughter, when a doula helped me feel safe, powerful, and deeply supported. That experience changed my life and called me into this sacred work. Before becoming a doula, I spent years guiding women through movement and strength, helping them reconnect to their bodies.

I bring that embodied wisdom into every birth I attend and every postpartum home I enter. My approach is trauma-informed, intuitive, inclusive, and rooted in deep trust of your body and inner knowing. Clients describe me as calming, grounding, nurturing, and deeply present. I believe that birth is a rite of passage — and you deserve to feel held through it. It’s my honor to walk with you through this powerful transformation, with heart, hands, and presence.
